Breast Plastic Surgery - Review

By John Border

Breast Implants can enhance the size and shape of your breast contour. Breast implants also known as mammoplasty enlargement.

There are two type of breast implants one is Saline Implants which have a silicone elastomer shell filled with a sterile saline liquid and other is Silicone Gel Implants which have a silicone shell filled with viscous silicone gel. Saline breast implants have been considered more beneficial because if at any point of time it gets ruptured the saline can be easily dissolved by the body. Their is a disadvantage to the same that the saline implants are more likely to show wrinkles through the skin.

It has not yet proved by the science that after any surgery there will not be any kind of side effects and complications. So the probability of risk factor always remain there. Similarly, as with any type of surgery, breast implants surgery has also associated some risks and side effects. The risk related to breast implant surgery could be obstructed mammography, breast feeding, internal infection, bleeding and possibility of breast implant leakage. The leakage might occur at any point of time though it is more likely to happen in the older implants. The saline leaks are more serious posing damage as the substance is very thick and it leaks very slow. In case the rupture occurs, it is advisable to immediately replace the implants.

Another most common problem or the complication associated is Capsular Contracture (hardening of the breast implants). The capsular contraction can develop in either one or both the breasts. The body tissues constricts tightly around the implants making it very hard and painful. At this point It is recommended to undergo a complete removal of the implants.

One should always remember when considering for undergoing breast implants, your skin will need to be stretched over the implants. Before taking your decision on having the breast implants done it is good to have adequate information. As this surgical procedure will not only change your outlook but also boost your self- esteem and inner confidence.
