Can you answer Ivan’s question about Plastic Surgery?:
I do not mean surgery that corrects a problem or is medically necessary. I mean when it is done purely for cosmetic reasons, to change the shape or size.

And, for the record, I am equally puzzled by men who do the same.

Outpatient Fat Reduction With Liposuction Surgery in India

Many patients are coming to India for liposuction surgery that is 60% less in cost as compared to western sides. The benefits of doing this are huge; Price advantage is a major selling point. The slogan thus is, “First World treatment’ at Third World prices” the cost differential across the board is huge: only a tenth and sometimes even a sixteenth of the cost in the west! Cosmetic surgeries in western countries cost three to four times as much as in India. If you have never considered India for liposuction surgery and tummy tucks now is the time to start, as the advantages make total sense - and the surgery is comparable with any in Europe or the US.
What is liposuction surgery?
Liposuction (fat removal) is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures in India. By removing deposits of excess fat, liposuction improves body appearance and smoothes irregular or distorted body shapes. The procedure is sometimes referred to as body contouring. Liposuction may be useful for contouring under the chin, neck, cheeks, upper arms, breasts, abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and ankle areas. However, liposuction is a major surgical procedure and possibly may involve a painful recovery. There may be serious and occasionally, fatal complications, so the decision to have liposuction should be well thought out.
What are the common areas where liposuction is performed?
Most commonly liposuction is performed (men and women) beneath the chin and on the flanks, hips, abdomen, inner and outer thighs, knees, and lower legs. In men enlarged male breasts (Gynecomastia), arms, neck and face are also treated with liposuction. It is interesting to note that liposuction can also remove sweat glands in the under arm areto reduce excessive sweating.
What are the benefits of liposuction?
The following are some of the uses for liposuction:
Cosmetic reasons are the most common, unsightly fat bulges, or an abnormal chin line.
To improve sexual function by reducing abnormally placed fat deposits on the inner thighs, thus allowing easier access to the vagina.
Body shaping for people who are bothered by fatty bulges or irregularities that cannot be eliminated by diet and/or exercise.
In India the cost of any surgery varies significantly between surgeons, medical facilities, and regions of the country. Surgery charges can be separated into five parts:
The surgeon’s fee,
The anesthesiologist’s fee,
He hospital charges, which includes nursing care and the operating room
Medications, and
Additional charges (assisting surgeon; treatment of complications; diagnostic procedures, such as blood or X-ray examinations; medical supplies; or equipment use).
Insurance coverage, expenses for liposuction surgery in India depends on many factors and should be explored for each individual instance.
